PERFORMANCE – VIDEO

In both Sports Centers, young athletes will engage in performance art, focusing not only on executing athletic gestures but also on actively exchanging the roles typically associated with players.

Collaborating closely with artist John Cascone and curator Andrea Pangallo, the participating athletes, regardless of gender, will collectively craft two dynamic artistic performances.

These performances serve a dual purpose: firstly, to meticulously deconstruct the conventional movements inherent in rugby sports, and secondly, to ingeniously transform them into captivating performative actions. These actions transcend the boundaries of gender, aiming to dismantle entrenched prejudices and foster inclusivity within the sporting community.

Beyond the mere demonstration of physical prowess, these performances serve as potent vehicles for social change, harnessing the power of artistic expression to challenge societal norms and promote acceptance.

The primary audience for these groundbreaking performances comprises young rugby players aged between 12 and 16, offering them not only a unique artistic experience but also an opportunity for introspection and growth within their sporting endeavors.
