exchange

The exchange visits, lasting four days, involve the travel of teams composed of players aged 12–17 from each rugby club. These visits aim to foster the personal development of the participants, with each group accompanied by two staff members. The FRIDAS project places strong emphasis on a meaningful learning process, enriched by intercultural exchanges between teams and coaches.

During FRIDAS #1, the exchange took place between two mixed rugby teams, one from Croatia and the other from Italy. In this context, participants collaborated closely with the artists John Cascone and Andrea Pangallo. During their stay in the host countries, the teams took part in activities designed to promote inclusion and a sense of belonging. Among these activities, a tag rugby match was organised, further strengthening the sense of unity within the group.

In FRIDAS #2, four participants from each rugby club will take part in the exchange visits. The group of four may include both boys and girls, with teams coming from Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia, and Spain. During their stay, participants will take part in activities aimed at promoting inclusivity, with a focus on gender equality and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. These activities will be guided by Monkeys Video Lab, experts, and project mentors, ASD Romanes Wheelchair Rugby. During each exchange visit, a wheelchair rugby match will also be organized.

Within the FRIDAS project, non-formal and informal education complement and reinforce each other, contributing to a lifelong learning process. The aim of these exchange visits is to deepen understanding of gender integration, accessibility for individuals with disabilities, and inclusion within the rugby context of the host country. They also seek to foster a community built on shared values and common goals in promoting gender equality and accessibility for people with disabilities in rugby at an international level.

This initiative also aims to cultivate a sense of active European citizenship and encourage participation in the promotion of fundamental rights. The target audience includes rugby players, coaches, project staff members, and the artists involved in the project.
