Latitudo Art Projects
January 30, 2024

The inaugural FRIDAS project webinar on January 30 explored the nexus of rugby, sports, art, and gender equality. As part of the innovative European initiative funded by the Erasmus+ program, it delved into the dynamic synergy between rugby and the arts, showcasing their potential as potent tools for challenging gender bias.
Throughout the webinar, partners introduced themselves and their contexts: Latitudo Art Projects, Primavera Rugby with Erika Morri, and Nada Ragbi Klub with Latica Mladina.
The online gathering spotlighted FRIDAS project’s innovative initiatives and strategies to foster inclusivity, diversity, and equality in sports. It revealed how the fusion of rugby and the arts catalyzes change, dismantling stereotypes, and fostering inclusivity in a world rife with gender inequality.
Discussion during the webinar centered on how the convergence of rugby and art crafts a compelling narrative, actively combating societal norms and gender bias. Rugby, traditionally seen as male-dominated, emerges as a force for change and empowerment, challenging entrenched gender roles.
Expert speakers offered valuable insights into collaborative endeavors to redefine sports’ role in breaking barriers and fostering a fairer society. Leveraging rugby and the arts’ expressive and unifying nature, the FRIDAS project strives to promote diversity, empower individuals, and contribute to a more equitable society.
The webinar served as a forum for dialogue, emphasizing how the FRIDAS project aims to usher in a new era where sports, including rugby, combat gender bias. It issued a call to action, rallying individuals and organizations to unite in pursuit of a more inclusive and equitable future.
