On March 19, a day entirely dedicated to inclusive sport took place at the Serafeio Athletic & Community Complex.

The workshop was led by Romanes Wheelchair Rugby, who guided participants in discovering this discipline through an introductory session. During this phase, participants became familiar with sports wheelchairs, learning about their features and the differences between the various types used in wheelchair rugby.

The morning continued with practical exercises, where participants explored basic game techniques and teamwork activities, essential for coordination and effective movement on the field. This first part of the session was dedicated to the project partners, providing a more focused space for learning and exchange.

Later, the workshop was opened to a wider audience, expanding the experience of sharing and raising awareness around inclusive sport.

After the training phase, it was time to move into action: participants took to the field to play a real wheelchair rugby match. The young athletes participated with enthusiasm, commitment, and strong team spirit, putting into practice what they had learned during the morning.

Following this, coaches, experts, and project partners also had the opportunity to join in, sharing the field in a moment of collective sport and enjoyment.

The day proved to be a meaningful experience, combining learning, inclusion, and collaboration, and highlighting how sport can be a powerful tool for breaking down barriers and creating genuine connections between people.
