On March 18, during the FRIDAS project exchange in Greece, an artistic workshop was led by Monkeys Video Lab, the artists of this edition of the project.
The day began with an introduction to the basics of photography and video, during which the videomakers provided participants with tools and knowledge for creating visual and audio content.
This workshop marked the first in a series of creative activities in which participants, using their own smartphones and professional microphones provided by Monkeys Video Lab, were involved in capturing images and sounds. The aim was to explore and represent the concept of micro–macro, observing how elements that may seem small or insignificant can take on different meanings depending on perspective.
Divided into four groups and accompanied by their coaches, the participants moved through a park in Athens to record videos and sounds, applying the techniques learned earlier in the day. Throughout the activity, they took turns in different roles, experimenting with both video shooting and sound recording.
The concept of micro–macro also became a moment for reflection: what may appear insignificant to some can represent an obstacle or something meaningful to others, highlighting the importance of observing reality from different perspectives.
The materials collected during this activity, together with those that will be produced in the upcoming exchanges, will contribute to the development of the video game scenario created by Mekit Studio, as well as to the final installation of the project.
During the workshop, participants also had the opportunity to experiment with green screen technology, creating visual content and poses that will also be integrated into the video game development.
